When will construction work begin on Legado? When will the first homes be occupied?

Approval of the Specific Plan (zoning) is anticipated in early 2020. Construction is targeted to start in 2021 and new families are expected to move in by 2022.

What local road and infrastructure improvements will Legado provide for the community?

In addition to constructing new roads within the project boundaries, Legado will make significant contributions to improvements on McCall Boulevard, Encanto Drive, Ethanac Road and Sherman Road. As a part of the Legado project, the existing flooding problem along Encanto Drive will be solved by the creation of landscaped basins that will store stormwater and release it slowly downstream. As an added benefit, the quality of the water draining from the Legado site will be greatly improved after it is filtered in special vegetated basins.

When will the Community Park be ready for use?

The Community Park will include three full-size soccer fields, a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and a community center with multi-purpose meeting rooms. The park is currently proposed to be completed when half of the homes in Legado are built. The final timing of the park will be determined by the City prior to the approval of the Specific Plan.

Who can use the Community Center?

The Community Center will be a safe and centralized gathering spot for residents, local community groups, and after school programs and will feature amenities such as conference rooms, office & storage space, concessions, and restrooms.

What schools will the children in Legado attend?

The current attendance areas are Freedom Crest Elementary School, Hans Christensen Middle School, and Heritage High School. These attendance areas may change in the future.

What land uses are proposed along the freeway?

The freeway-oriented commercial area allows a wide variety of uses including restaurants, entertainment, lodging, retail sales, and offices.
